Roald Schoenmakers

Ever since I was in my mother’s stomach, I was already preparing myself to become a citizen of the world. My biological mother was born in Cape Verde, meanwhile my father was born in Holland. So that is why I’ve always felt it had been worth it to cross borders in order to gain life experiences.

Holland, where I started my first business, an agency supplying drivers for executives, at 21 years old, Chile, Belgium, the UK, Germany, France and Portugal have all been my various homes until I arrived in Spain in 1994.

As far as my professional life is concerned, it is fundamentally focused on the private sector except for one year when I worked for the Liberal Party of the European Parliament, where I can showcase my brief work at Traffic4U as a General Manager and Promoter, and a manager at Galileo-Travelport España.

Súmate is my pet project, where I can pour all of my knowledge and international experience into managing multinational companies and online marketing, travel and advertising start-ups.

Whenever my packed schedule allows me a breather, I love to relax by competing in a good padel match or reading an interesting book about history.
