Kimberly DeFrate

My name already gives away a clue about me: I’m American. I was born in a small town in the U.S. state of Washington called Wenatchee. Although I identify more with the city of Seattle, where I lived for a number of years.

I have degrees in International Relations and Spanish but I have had a lot of jobs over the course of my life, from sales at a Fortune 500 company, to giving online marketing consultations in addition to being an assistant manager for a study abroad program. All of these jobs have helped strengthen my capacities to lead, manage and communicate, which is what truly motivates me!

Spain has always stood out to me with its culture, history and language. I came to study Spanish in 2002 and I ended up staying. It’s also where my two children were born.

Currently at Súmate, I am a consultant in the SEM Department, which allows me to put all of my knowledge into practice every day. In my free time, I concentrate on my greatest passion, my children, and depending on the weather, I go horseback riding.
